LYOCELL

When you think of Lyocell you usually think of soft, drapey and casual fabrics made from tree pulp. Lyocell is indeed a “softer” fiber on the planet, and we generally offer two alternatives:

  • Tencel, which is the branded Lyocell by Lenzing company, in accordance with FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) standards and following stringent regulations.

  • Fillsens, a new fiber that’s exclusive to Pastel and that differs from the rest because it is continuous filament lyocell (as opposed to the staple fiber of Tencel) giving it a unique aspect, drape and handfeel.

FILLSENS

ENVIRONMENT FRIENDLY

Fillsens is manufactured under closed-loop and pollution-free conditions. Atmosphere, land and water pollutions resulting from its manufacturing process are almost negligible. As a natural cellulosic fiber, used fabrics are fully biodegradable.

OUTSTANDING FABRIC PERFORMANCES

Fillsens fabric is characterized by its distinguished features of touch, drape, color, brightness and low pilling. These excellent features make it more valuable. The Special filament apparel is softer and more comfortable than other conventional cellulosic products.

HUGE DEVELOPMENT POTENTIALITY

Cellulosic fibers have long been accepted as the most important fibers for apparel. Problems of low tenacity and heavy pollution from all conventional processes are eliminated by The Special process, fiber could therefore gradually replace conventional cellulosic fibers. With various special properties, The Special fiber will certainly expand its application to other new fields.

GOOD PHYSICAL PROPERTIES

The moisture absorption of Fillsens is similar to that of natural fiber. It keeps a high wet strength like synthetic fiber , its dry and wet tenacities are respectively double and triple that of conventional cellulosic fibers. Very low boiling water shrinkage of yarn produces very high dimension stability of fabrics.

TENCEL™

TENCEL™ Lyocell fibers with REFIBRA™ technology are manufactured in an award-winning efficient closed-loop process, contributing to the circular economy in the textile industry. The use of resources and energy is reduced to a minimum, at the same time we achieve distinguished level of environmental protection and resource preservation.

A seemingly simple idea is at the core of this innovation: The pioneering REFIBRA™ technology involves up-cycling a substantial proportion of cotton scraps, e.g. from garment production, in addition to wood pulp sourced from certified sustainable forestry.

This innovative method makes a significant contribution to efficiency and environmental protection. We’re proud to pave the textile industry’s way towards the future-oriented concept of circular economy.

LENZING™

Cellulose as a raw material for Lenzing fibers, together with our sophisticated production technologies, is the basis of our sustainable circular economy model. We use all these valuable components that our renewable and natural raw material wood has to offer. We process our raw materials in closed production loops wherever possible. At the end of their life cycle, our fibers biodegrade - and nature returns to nature.

Growing trees feed on sunlight, water and the carbon dioxide from our atmosphere. The cellulose used to produce Lenzing’s fibers is the most important component of wood. Our production process mirrors to a great extent the circular concept of nature: The water and chemicals we need for our production process are as much as possible re-circulated in our system and  used over and over.

The result of this circular model is sustainable: All along their life cycle, products made with Lenzing fibers promote resource preservation and environmental protection. For this achievement, consumers and business partners reward us with their trust.
